Day 3:  6th June 2018, 9.15am-3.15pm

This three-day course, with four in-class support sessions from our Teaching and Learning Team, aims to help teachers 'look in the mirror' to critically reflect on their practice. Teachers will explore academic evidence, pedagogies, share experiences and develop tools and skills to reflect at a 'greater depth' about their practice. Comparison of the quality of teaching of core subjects and foundation subjects will also be a focus to develop the quality of their teaching across the wider curriculum.

Time will be given for teachers to consider their most effective actions and the impact they have on learning. They will develop further teaching and learning strategies and explore how to ensure these maximise pupils outcomes. Teachers will be given the support to develop their subject leadershiprole, as well as consider their future career progression. This programme offers participants the chance to write up their learning in a short assignment to gain credits towards a masters degree.

Delegates will be supported to:

  • Further embed the principles of good teaching, in all aspects of the curriculum.
  • Develop tools and skills to reflect on their own practice and as a result make changes to have a greater impact on pupil outcomes.
  • Review their subject leadership and begin to plan for their future career progression.

Delegates will also:

  • Develop a deeper pedagogical knowledge.
  • Have the opportunity for teachers to network between schools / academies.
