Embedding Good Teaching Programme-day 1

On Wednesday 5th October twenty teachers attended the first day of the Embedding Good Teaching Programme. Delegates have attended from eight of our ECMAT academies and six other schools Education Central work in partnership with from across the West Midlands.

The consideration of pedagogical reflection, progressing to critical reflection on their own teaching practice is the over-arching theme of the programme and the delegates have began their personal journeys in adapting their practice through their own deep reflections. Many of the first of three ‘in-class’ visits for teachers from the teaching and learning team have already started, with the aim to strengthen the understanding of transforming the theory from the course into effective practice.

Quote from a delegate:

“Schools are so busy that it is very easy to get into the habit of teaching most of your lessons in a similar way. This first day has got me to think again about my practice, the delivery of my lessons and how I might do things differently.”
