How to apply

Education Central is the social arm enterprise of the University of Wolverhampton, collaborating with the Sandwell, Wolverhampton and Education Central Multi Academy Trust.

THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS ~ WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

All Primary applications received by the 3rd February 2017 will be considered against the criteria outlined in the person specification which will be presented on the application form.

The current professional duties of a teacher, as outlined in the School Teacher' Pay and Conditions document, again this will be presented on the application form.

Black Country Headteachers will conduct the short listing process.
If you have not heard back from the NQT Team before the 20th February 2017 please contact 01902 51 8963.

REFERENCES

Two references will be requested for all shortlisted candidates. These will be requested prior to your interview. It is therefore important that you confirm with your referees that you may use their names as a referee. We ask that you provide us with a contact from your university / college as well as a contact from one of your teaching placements.

THE INTERVIEW

The interviews will be held in on the 1st March 2017. Each interview will last for approximately 30 minutes. The panels will consist of Headteachers from across the Black Country as well as Local Authority personnel.

The purpose of the interview is to ascertain how your skills, knowledge and experience correspond to the person specification. Interviews are stressful and it is recognised that there are many highly competent individuals who have difficulty in demonstrating their competence at interviews. That is why all our interviewers receive interview skills training. They will make every effort to put you at ease so that you are able to demonstrate your skills, experience and motivation to work in the Black Country.

You will be contacted in writing shortly after your interview to confirm the outcome and to explain the post interview process.

Unless you specify on your application form that you do not wish your details to be circulated to a particular Local Authority, a record of your performance at interview will be circulated to the four Local Authorities within the Black Country. Headteachers with vacancies will then access your details and invite you for an appointment interview. This process will continue until the new pool is activated in November 2017.
