    Education Central is a school improvement organisation committed to providing high quality education support. The organisation was created in 2012 to build on the successful work of the Black Country Children’s Services Improvement Partnership and Black Country Challenge. Since then we have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of schools and academies in one way or another. We work primarily in the West Midlands on projects at a range of different scales as part of the University of Wolverhampton’s commitment to the region. Occasionally we provide our services more widely.

    As a social enterprise we are primarily focussed on adding high quality school improvement capacity to the region and providing high quality support to schools, wherever they are on their journey. We are committed to ‘Improving Education Together’ and hence working in partnership with others is key to our success.

    University of Wolverhampton 

    Education Central forms part of the University’s education service, supporting professionals from initial teacher training through to preparing for and taking on Executive leadership roles. The Education Central school improvement offer links with the university’s research work through the Education Observatory, with our masters and doctoral programmes, the NPQs and with initial teacher training.

    Our partners

    We work in partnership with many others, providing support to and drawing on the expertise of a number of local authorities, teaching school alliances, multi-academy trusts and partner schools. This partnership approach means we have a diverse team of people able to support with whatever needs present themselves.

    Our Team

    Our core team have become highly specialised at working with colleagues in a wide range of schools and do a lot of our bespoke work, they have all been ASTs, SLEs or senior leaders in schools making a significant impact on teaching and learning.

    The core team are supported by secondments of colleagues from across the Institute of Education at the University of Wolverhampton and from our partner schools at various times. We also have access to a wide range of consultants and specialists who work with us to support schools when the need arises.
