Field to Factory
The Engine Manufacturing Centre at i54, Wolverhampton is the first facility Jaguar Land Rover have built from the ground up.
This £500 million investment in the state of the art facilities took 18 months to turn from field to a working factory.
Pupils will have the opportunity to tour the facility and learn fascinating facts about the site and how environmental impact was at the heart of the build.
Pupils will use their maths, science and geography skills to plan their own facility using real life techniques, including a feasibility study.
Pupils and staff will need to bring a packed lunch and drink.
Please wear appropriate footwear (no heels, wedges or open toe/backs are allowed). Please note, there will be a tour of the factory grounds and there will be sudden loud noises from the machinery and robots. To avoid disappointment, please arrive early for registration, the session will start promptly at 9.30am.
