Higher Level Thinking Across the Curriculum
The intent of any curriculum is to develop knowledge and skills to support pupils to have a deep understanding of the area of a study. This course will develop practitioners’ abilities to inject higher level thinking skills into lessons for all learners.
Through a series of carefully crafted practical activities, delegates will explore how higher level thinking skills can be developed. Starting with ‘Fisher’s Four Levels of Learning’ model, delegates will learn how to embed higher order thinking skills across the curriculum, so that learners can engage deeply with ambitious content and are well equipped to be able to build on it in future.
Teachers will leave:
- Having improved questioning techniques to probe and support learning.
- Clear about a range of techniques they can put into practice in their next lesson.
With a framework to support school based discussion on the use of questioning to promote deeper understanding.
