Supporting Lower Attaining Pupils - KS2
Above all else, quality teaching is the key driver in supporting lower attaining pupils. This course will allow participants to think about how they structure and sequence learning to maximise the progress and enthusiasm of all and reduce negative learning behaviours. While specific learning difficulties will not be addressed the day will focus on the planning and pedagogy that supports those pupils who are slow to develop new skills. and often have difficulty in the retention of prior learning.
Through a series of carefully crafted activities, from across the curriculum, delegates will be supported to see how they can directly impact on learning behaviours and outcomes when appropriate scaffolding, resources and lesson design are employed. Delegates will consider how they can provide targeted intervention that really makes a difference and accelerates pupil progress.
