Teaching the Tricky bits of Science - Chemistry
This programme consists of three sessions across the academic year. All of the sessions will be practical, engaging and will promote collaboration through this professional network. Routed in classroom practice, the facilitator will help delegates to ensure the knowledge and skills required in the science curriculum are explicitly taught in ways that the children can remember. A constant theme will be ensuring the actual science behind common activities is well taught so that it is understood by pupils.
While each session will have a focus on Biology, Chemistry or Physics the importance of ‘Working Scientifically’ will be a recurring theme. The sessions will be suitable for any primary practitioner teaching the science curriculum and also for science leaders wanting to deepen their understanding.
